I think you are correct with all your observations. Some of them have been fixed. The Dark Wraith has done a 'Mega-Mod for SH5' that has rounded-up alot of the best fixes and Mods and put them into one handy package. I believe he is compiling an update as we speak. I would have a go at No.8 because I am artistic but I haven't a clue what software is best and then how to use it! If I could get to the stage where I can manipulate the textures, I would certainly do it!
