Getting back to the topic at hand. I must admit I've not seen riots and looting like this in the UK for some time, and the fact that it's going on for longer than a day or two...and now has apparently spread to Birmingham as well.
There's going to need to be a lot of questions asked when the dust from this settles, and it shouldn't be a case of "How do we stamp down on this?" or we'll drift along into a Gestapo state before we know it...it should be a question of "Why? Why is this happening after some twenty years of relative quiet?" The answers, providing they come from the people in the city and not from Middle Class folk in Buckinghamshire, should set some light on the gulf between classes in the cities.
