Well from what I gather they try to avoid US waters most head for some place along the Mexican coast(depending on where they launched from) and the more basic semi subs they scuttled upon arrival the dope inside is worth much more than the boat.

Now the full blown sub in the DEA and Junglas found that looks more permanent to me I bet they intend to use those for multiple trips suggesting that they are heading for someplace in Mexico farther south. Those cartels are not stupid after all they are not going to take a risk that does have some reward.I would not be surprised if they start using the semi-subs as ploys to pull units away ans allow the big daddy to slip past.Of course the big issue is if they avoid US water all together we have to rely on someone else to spot them more often. My only though is how many are we not even catching at sea or destroying at dock? My guess is many if the Cartels are spending the money on them they must be having enough success with them to be worth the money spent. This is the big unknown of any black market you have no idea how much your efforts are stopping I'd say though to met the very high demand for drugs in the US there must be enough getting through and if you are only making the dope a little harder to get for the end user then really you are allowing the sellers to charge more for it and actually giving them even more profits not less.It is already known that most heroin producers purposefully store a large portion of what they produce to cause the demand to rise if they are actively doing this it implies that more than enough is getting through to the streets and that anti trafficking efforts must not be hurting them too badly.

It seems the only thing we wind up doing is just causing the game to change in the late 1970 and 80's we cracked down then the Colombian cartels changed how they did things and began using upstart Mexican criminal groups to smuggle drugs through Mexico and the Mexicans stepped up the game with their knowledge of the popularity of meth from biker gangs that often made the meth in Mexico and smuggled it back they realized that they could expand massively now they where able to provide three drugs in demand.

If we make the semi-subs and subs become no longer cost effective they will just come up with something else. Some guys on here might get mad when I say this but the US refuses to accept that there are alot of people here that use drugs until you fix the drug abuse problem your just wasting time I love how they send users and dealers to prison where they will still just as easily be able to obtain the same drugs that they did on the street.
