But i have some questions: Is the raising in magnification a real thing? This could improve the flag identification? How can you guys achieve to raise the magnification factor (10x)? I tried sometime ago to mod the scene.dat for this but I don't work...

Thanks for any advice.

Rubini.
Those mods are very old yet, i dont remember exactly but i think so i made them few weeks after game release.

10X magnification trick is not my discover, as the redme above says, it is job of Wazzo, i take it fro my mod.

I soupose that level of maginfication is not real but as was extensively discued in SH2 and in this mod, a eye visual definition is infinitely bigger than the definition in the game and the monitor, some important thing as mast are not properly modelled when far, but in real life you can see them and measure mast top angle with no problems.

As i always says, the important is not to set historical values, instead the important is to have a historical behavior.

You always must to take in account, you are in a chair, with a mouse and a keyboard, it is too limitating if you set all at historical values or conditions.

Many periscopes has a very big bearing strip outside the viewfinder, on top of the scope, this strip has may be 60 cm diameter, it is a long near 2 meters, it gives you a very precise bearing strip, plus they has a Vernier type double dial to measure bearing preciselly.

Due to that i done this little help, not real, not historical, but we have not acces to the outside strip.

About how much it can help, JXP give you the response and examples.
