You've got me there....it looks a little like a Fairey Battle perhaps?

UG was the squadron code used by 16, 310 and 1654 Squadrons during the war http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_RAF_Squadron_Codes

I appreciate it doesn't help identify the aircraft type but the model builder may have attached historically innacurate decals.
