Dangerous Waters isn't designed for the bling. It's designed as a hardcore submarine simulation. In real life, the crew of a sub's only contact with anything outside the sub is with the sensors at their disposal. The beauty of Dangerous Waters is learning how these things are really done, and the challenge of using what these platforms really use to track and kill their prey. It's not an action arcade game where you drive around shooting everything. In a modern battle, even, usually the attacker doesn't even see the target when he fires and the damage is confirmed by either other units or new data streamed into the platform's sensors. This is especially true for a submarine.

The closest thing you'll get to a 3D attacker's point of view is driving the FFG or the aircraft, and even then, most of the time, the targets won't be visible.
