The recommended processor is a Pentium 4 at 2 GHz. Passmark's cpu benchmark for that is 247, the Core 2 Duo's score is 978, at 1.3 GHz. Mine is overclocked 33%.
Even at stock speed the Core 2 Duo is 4 times faster.
Roaming the ocean looking off the bridge my framerates are somewhere around 140 fps. It only drops to 50-60 in the middle of a convoy.
Clock rates for newer CPUs don't mean much, especially trying to compare to older generations.
