I think this would apply to any book about this, but he might still get deals where he appears on some silly reality show or something like that. If he serves more than 6 years, public fascination with him will probably be much less.

What bothers me much more, is the way defeated pols so often get cushy jobs and appointments after they leave. They never seem to have to face the consequences of their actions. It is almost impossible to get rid of them. Several legislators in Illinois, who were defeated, helped pass a unpopular income tax increase here. Shortly afterwards, we find out they were rewarded with nice appointments by the Governor. That's not too corrupt now, is it? Elections don't seem to matter anymore; the pols do as they please.
