R.N cadets in the Uk for a few years, including a trip up to Faslane which was an ace experience, including wandering around a docked sub and the absolutely wonderful experience of being in a submarine simulator. By which I mean if you imagine one of those simulators you get at a fair on pistons which move about. Imagine one of those the size of a room which is modelled after the command deck of a submarine, including all relevant controls and with the ability to set weather and sea conditions so the thing was constantly moving to simulate heavy weather. You could do anything in it you could in a real sub, plotting, tracking, launching torpedo's or slbm's, etc, etc. Oddly enough I seem to remember we all 'died'.
And at some point in the future have my national service in Greece to look forward to. That'll be fun.
