I have to say that the name of this project is misleading. They should just call it what it is, a MK 48 update. In my opinion this whole thing is dissapointing, it's nice to impove the ADVCAP's "brain' but what the navy really could use is a whole new torpedo with speed, manuverability and range that puts it head and shoulders above the most advanced torpedo currently in service.
After all, since they stripped the US subs of Harpoons and SUBROC, all they've got to fight sub and surface threats are torpedo's, shouldn't they be the best?
