A quick method would be to put a new installation onto a separate partition or rename a new installation for example 'GWX3b'.
I WOULD NOT cut and paste from the problematic installation because you would be simply duplicating whatever the problem is.

Yup tried that Jim, in fact I've always installed on a seperate hdd to my system, however out of desperation I tried installing to my c: ((outside *:/program files x86/ubi/blah) although that shouldn't make a ifference as I have UAC off), this doesn't seem to have made any difference. Re a PITA install, have always done it this way mate, kinda reminds you of the falcon4 dance don't it
I've tried a couple of experiments tonight, made several saves with gwx plus all my mods installed, now I have to give it the dreaded 24 hour wait and see what happens. I will report back
