Default I think I have witnessed a first in submarine warfare!

I got ambushed by a passenger liner...

I was passing the straights of Gibraltar (submerged to avoid destroyers and elcos) when I noticed a lot of black lines from sonar (merchant ships) I come up to periscope depth and notice a huge number of ships ahead, as I somehow managed to blunder on a convoy. Feeling lucky, I start lining up a shot with the biggest ship I see (a tanker) when WHAM! I get blindsided by a passenger liner from the right.

In Atlantic you ambush passenger liner, in Gibraltar passenger liner ambush you I guess.

Funny thing is, I'm %99.9 sure that the passenger liner hadn't detected me at the time, so it was entirely my fault.

In the end I did manage to sink a decent tonnage of ships (including the offending liner) so I still consider myself lucky but that was an interesting experience.
