Aside from lack of corroboration, this story is unsurprising, even if true. I'd be surprised if any President since watergate hasn't bent such rules, and certainly every single one before watergate did so as SOP. So the "Milhouse" poke at Nixon is pretty biased. Why not George Delano Bush, instead? This isn't a partisan thing in terms of who does it.
Regardless, the article even states that they don't even know if they actually produced any data for the admin, and if so, publicly available information would not be illegal if gathered by CIA, just "improper." I still think it's wrong, but if it's not illegal, you can be sure they all do it.
Look at the bright side, it's way better than in the old days like FDR or Wilson.
