Can't you install Radeon drivers without CCC? Seem to recall something like that. Resolution can be set in Windows without it, so it's not strictly nescesary. Provided it's indeed CCC that's being problematic, might solve your problem.

Other than that I really don't know what to add to what has already been said. Last time I used a Radeon was with my 9250.
