Reminds me of an exchange project from my school I took part in twelve years ago. Our class would spend one week in a hotel in Kyoto, and one week we would all live with Japanese families.
Well the hotel we stayed in was by no means the Four Seasons or the Plaza, but it was a decent enough place in the center of town. However you wouldn't believe what kind of 'comic books' were lying around in the lobby (!). Some of the filthiest material I've ever seen. And I'm no prude, I've seen my share of pornographic material, but this was just unbelievable. And lying there in the hotel lobby. Very weird....
Anyway, aside from that the trip was incredible, and living with that Japanese family for a week was a great experience. But I'll never forget those 'comics'
