The Wildcat can not be compared to the likes of Mustangs, Aircobras or 109s! These aircraft's roots started somewhere and often as an ugly duckling. The Wildcat transformed into this:
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. To me....nothing beats this:
Was she the best for air to air combat? Not always but in the right hands she was formidable.
