Actually Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. That is how bigger importance it plays in Islam though it's never mentioned here.

The best and the worst nations. Hmm. I bet many ME nations are way off the mark. It is a different story with the actual citizens but for the governments (if you could call them that) it is as a different story.
