Yes, but in my opinion we don´t have better references, because I think it don´t exist color photos from real U-96 sub. We see it on historical black-white photos and we have as reference the movie "Das Boot". In the movie "Das Boot" the sawfish is black (the movie based on real-patrols from U-96). The Roman-Author Lothar-Günther Buchheim was in WW2 in the rank on a "Leutnant" War-journalist and drive 2 or 3 partrols with U-96 under Commander "Heinrich Lehmann-Willenbrock" (here a picture from him on U-96, with beard:
