It is difficult to distinguish between the patriotic and loyal acts of the SS and the ones from the ordinary Wehrmacht :hmm:
The german soldier of the XX century will be no doubt remembered as one of the toughest and most determined ever, no matter if he served in the SS or wehrmacht. I think we can anyway distinguish between the "good" qualities of the german soldier -even german citizen- and the fanatism and irrational behaviour of the majority of the SS.
I have always respected any men who show courage and patriotism while giving life for their countries....same as I have always hated the irrational fanatism and racism. So I think we can praise most of the strictly military actions of the SS while at the same time we can put the KZ (KonzentrationsLager) actions as some of the most evil in history of mankind
But what is this in all? In my opinion, a perfect expression of the dualism of human nature....capable of the best, and at the same time of the worst
