I'd been to Binbrook for a couple of the Lightning Preservation Groups runs when they first started, but they've since moved to Bruntingthorpe (shame for me, but it does mean they get more punters = more cash!)
Third best noise in aviation!
The second best (but the loudest) has to be a B1-B, I particularly liked them as a wake up call at about 0615 EVERY morning at Thumrait about 400m from my tent, as they took off to pound the Tora Bora mountains
The ultimate noise, Vulcans, now obviously only XH558

. No doubt in my mind. I just wish I'd seen a live QRA scramble from Scampton.
