This first clip makes me think.Back in Vietnam MAC SOG and the CIA had a rather successful program called "Eldest Son" in this program SOG teams would infiltrate into a NVA ammo dump and place specially rigged 7.62x39mm rounds into boxes of normal ammo sometimes they also planted mortar rounds as well .These rounds where rigged with way to much powder inside them so much so that the ak would explode when fired, regular Army and Marine troops indeed found the remains of exploded AK-47s and the remains of the firer the idea was to lower the NVA/Viet Cong faith in their ammo supplies.I'd scan some pics from my SOG book written by the way by John Plaster an ex SOG man himself so this is not bull**** 90% of the photos in this book where taken by SOG men.You might be able to find some online by looking up Eldest Son.

I am wondering if something similar is going on with this video. And I wonder if Ga-Coffe could come up with something like that.It does look as though one round exploded for sure not the fault of the AK any firearm will explode like this from an overcharged round. Just read the post by Oberon in that case it must simply have been an over charged round to bad it was not strong enough to kill the shooter like "Eldest Son" did.

Hate to say though that the Type 56(Chinese) version of the AK-47 is/was very sturdy many Green Berets and Navy SEALs chose to carry that weapon in Vietnam enough that they had to have a factory in South Korea make 7.62x39 ammo for them in secret and guys like that don't carry ****ty weapons.

I'll scan the pics of the "Eldest Son AK found by US troops and post it later.
P.S. the book about SOG is called, SOG:A Photo History of the Secret Wars ISBN 1-58160-597-8.
