Try VII-C photos from plastic models (revell for example), most of them are very accurate.

The plastic models are helpful, but when the com more details of the rivets and panels are not very accurate.
So I had to resort to black and white photos in good condition and photos of museum where they exhibit these wonderful machines of war

We all know that these vessels were exposed to an extreme environment and their metallic structures were suffering much, but we know also that these devices underwent a restoration constant, at least at the beginning of the war.
Late in the war entered a period of neglect, especially the external structure, given the short time available to them for maintenance.
This first project I'm doing, I want to expose as they were at the beginning of the war, to wear in the paint and rust at critical points of the submarine.
I have planned to perform a second job with a high degree of degradation of the external structure of the submarine.
