Myeah, can turn it around just as easy: there would be nothing to mod if they didn't put something on the market. SH5 in particular leaves a lot of room to work with, in that it supports scripting. We were given a more or less blank slate, perhaps a template, to build and expand upon.
I think that is in fact worth something, and we can count our lucky stars that they put out SH5: the engine is gorgeous and, again, it is very moddable.
I sincerely doubt there will be a SH6 anytime soon, if at all. Think modders that are interested in making their own game should just do exactly that, rather than try to wrestle away the rights for SH from Ubi.
