I somehow doubt that a merciful God would reward such vindictiveness with eternal power. You jest, but most jokes have at least some basis in perception. If you even believe that to some extent, you are missing the point of heaven. This life is a difficult and often joyless one, that is true, but it serves to test your faith. Faith endures. Faith is eternal. If there is an eternal heaven ruled by a merciful God, does it not stand to reason that He would value faith?

That's part of my view, anyways. Maybe there is no God. Maybe all that awaits us at the end of this existence is oblivion, but even if that were so, would it hurt to have a little faith? Would it hurt to believe in a higher ideal?

I'd suggest that the world to change its composition so that there will be less evil and stupid people and more good and wise people. Like 50:50 so that we can have a war instead a persecution LOL. War is always interesting.
Yes, war is always interesting. Our flesh makes it so. The vicissitudes of nature and evolution have created beings that find a place in a dog-eat-dog world full of conflict. We fight, or we flee or we die, and thus cease to be a part of the system that created us. You're right about this world being an uninteresting place in that respect. But what about you, who takes joy in war? Is that not an expression of the faithless natural world that wrought you? What about you, who judges the faithless as "stupid"? What place would a merciful God have for you in a Heaven that is "heaven" by nature of not being any of the things you are disillusioned with?

Speaking of which, I'd best pull the plank out of my own eye while I'm judging you. I delight in war. Well, not so much in war as in fighting. Actually, that's not accurate either, I delight in the idea of myself fighting for others, provided its for a good cause and others don't get killed. It's not perfect, but I believe the Lord will forgive me for my sins and those of the people I served with.

Anyways, our Lord Jesus has already taught us these things by His example. He was not vindictive, nor did He judge, and He ascended to Heaven by enduring the worst of earthly pains. Surely, you know this. Was His example not clear enough?

Stay strong, stay faithful, and be judged by your actions towards others. Take responsibility for your failings and confess your misdeeds. Be virtuous and courteous, and you will enjoy a heaven all your own in this life. The world is full of cheaters and liars and opportunists, but you can still find peace and happiness within yourself.

Now, for you atheist-types who will inevitably presume to question what I have said here. Do not question me, and do not question Castout. I've already considered every argument you might posit, and I will refute them. Moreover, I'm not really interested in disputing them. I have my faith, and you have yours, which is as it should be. I don't judge you for your faith or lack thereof, so please do not judge me for mine. I'm well within my rights secular or not, to present my views. Judge them as you will, but do not presume to judge me.

Alright then, back to confessions. Um..I play DnD and I put a lot of voice-acting effort into the role-playing bits. I play Warhammer 40K with an "Iron Hands' Space Marine Chapter because I think cyborgs are cool, and also because I have to play Space Marines because I'm a Marine. Playing any other faction just isn't classy. In short, I am a nerd, and proud to be one.
