The asshat preacher in FL is not even culpable in these crimes.
He's an idiot, but it doesn't matter. The bad guys are the ones doing the violence, period.
If someone burned a flag at a university here (I've seen that myself), and someone murdered people over it, would anyone blame the people burning the flag for the murder? When the cross in a jar of piss art was displayed, would anyone blame the artist if Catholics somewhere on earth murdered over it? Petraeus was wrong, too in his statement. Anyone is perfectly fine to say it was a crappy thing to do if they like, but burning a book is not an acceptable excuse for murder or even assault, sorry.
That everyone expects Muslims to murder over crap like this tells a lot about Muslims, not someone torching a koran. Idiots.
Note that I don't even think burning a book is "fighting words" if they burn it right in front of you. Meet expression with expression. Muslims burn US flags all the time, the only reaction it's ever really gotten from me was laughing that one incident where the guy lit himself on fire.
