Not a bad point, as the intense feelings that people have for each thing are comparable - note: not comparing for what each of it stands for.
However most Americans have seen dozens of flag burnings in the news, yet I have seen not too many storming the embassies of the countries where the burning happened, or the UNHQ in NY...
