When I meet a ship, I take a note of my heading and steer around the ship. I then reset the heading I noted and 90% of the time I hit the 100m radius required to pick up the next waypoint.

To be able to pick up pilot if waypoint missed- how about some sort of check command. Could this be - as each nav command line is achieved and waypoint reached, the script gets bearing to next waypoint. There would then need to be some sort of trigger to set that bearing
