You say you use "AC'97 Audiochip", well then maybe its a problem with the deck gun sound. Some of the on board audio devices let your game crash if the sound is stereo. So make sure you have mono only sounds. Maybe you use a deck gun sound mod with stereo sound?
Ah... as I read your post again I see that you don't fire your deck gun, but anyway it could be a sound that is played while you man your guns.
