Obviously he's running a 64-bit version of either Windows 7 or Vista, as these both supports GPT. Which, as we can see, will detect the full 3TB of capacity.
But still, if if you want to use the disc as a boot drive, you will need a motherboard with a Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) BIOS.
