Playing SH3 unpatched you can hit esc and teleport even when in dire straits. I remember receiving a hammering over at Scapa Flow, I was stuck at the bottom with moderate to heavy flooding and more DCs on the way. I knew I was a goner, and hit esc in frustration. My intention was to quit, but I was surprised to see that even
then I was able to teleport. Well, I had to in order to quit anyway, and don't you think they gave me a shiny Iron Cross 2nd class and a sack of renown as well!
