Notable italian scientists that i can think of from the top of my head:
galileo
da vinci
avogadro
fermi
bernoulli
marconi
venturi
can't think of any notable slovenian, or even balkan, scientists, except ancient greeks, but they don't count since the ancient greek cultural line ceased after it was redesigned as an ottoman satrapy, and the present greece shares only the name.
