Dunno if this will solve your problem o-shet, but I also was having problems getting SHIII to load with RUB. I kept getting CTDS. What I had to do to fix was replace the RUB intro and logo movie files (I'm trying to remember their names from memory, so apologies if I'm remembering the names wrong) with the original SHIII movie files.
