JSGME is still used, will probably always be used
Do a search for it in the mods forum.
As far as what you are wanting there are two UI mods available: mine and Reaper7s. It appears Reaper7 has abandoned his though and doesn't work on it anymore. Mine you can find here:

If you choose to use my UIs mod it will take you some time to digest it. Take it slowly and ask questions if you're confused/need help.
