I'm no homophobe, but hasn't this sort of thing been done on naval ships of just about all nations before? Navy humour (heck, most military humour full stop, particularly at squaddie level) is traditionally ribald, and if you don't have a thick skin, well, surely you picked the wrong career?
Although, not actually been there myself in terms of military service, so I can't say anything for definite, so I'll leave the real talking to those who have and are.
