My first post here

I've just started playing Silent Hunter 4 and am having an issue with getting this option to work. If I do the tutorial, and turn on "no map contact update" in the options, it works. I don't get a link on the map pointing me to the ship. But as soon as I try do it in career, it doesn't work. I always get a line on the map pointing me at my target.

Does anyone know what might be causing this to occur? I wanted to try the game with all options to realistic except fuel...just can't get the contacts on the map to stop showing.
