Getting a VIIb to 200 isn't too much of a problem most of the time (w/no hull damage), when the creaks start to make a very distinctly different sound you'll know its time to blow some ballast and get up a bit quick. It's cool the first time to watch the control room pretty much explode when the hull starts taking damage; long as you move up 20-30m quickly you'll be safe.
