I haven't been able to make a sub dive/surface. It's a unit_Ship commander, so it doesn't change height. I've been experimenting with the airplane cmdr, but no luck yet.

So far my solution is: clone the AI sub, and give each clone a different depth. Like: AI_Oscar25, AI_Oscar70, AI_Oscar135. I keep the submerged draught at 1500, and set the surfaced draught to the desired depth.

In the mission editor, it's possible to make a random group, so a random sub clone will be selected - a different depth each time you play the mission.

By the way, i've noticed that when you dive to 200m or below, your sub tends to keep sinking...
