I'm not as old as some of the guys around here, but I have been watching the R's and D's play this game long enough to know that this isn't going to be true; not by a long shot. Quotes like that are going to come back and bite you.
EDIT: By the way, I think it is pretty clear that they are
both pandering to the middle class. Team D is doing so while wanting to soak the rich, and Team R is doing so while wanting to screw the poor.
