A gentle reminder: your hydrophone is an extremely useful tool. Not only can you detect the targets at longer range than visual range, and get their bearing, you can also hear the difference between merchant screws and warship screws very easily. For that matter, you can hear torpedo screws, explosions and hull breaking noises, although you can hear much of the latter from the command room, and strangely enough, it sounds better in the command room.
