It's Mount & Blade, whatever you do is wrong and makes you feel like an idiot in combat. Until you win and then think "holy crap, we were outnumbered ten to one and we won!"
The best thing to do with a polearm/lance is just get up to speed, make sure its couched and then aim with your mouse for some poor gits head
