Rubio is exactly correct. This is a second opportunity for R's in office to act as they have claimed that they are - fiscally conservative. The fact is that the tea party movement (which helped elect 2 african american republicans btw - what a racist group!) is now the watchdog and conscience of the republican party, and that is a good thing. Without centralized leadership, but instead being beholden to their constituents, I suspect the "tea partiers" will help keep the r's on track.
But no - this was not an embracing of "republican" policies - because the people are not real sure what they REALLY are. What it is - is a repudiation of the Obama domestic agenda AND an embracing of fiscal common sense - with the expectation that the R's will embrace that in action as well.
