Here's a link to the Chiwawa class as they appeared during the war. Good to know that there are still some WW2 ships in operation today.

Several lake ships were sunk during the war, including the Donald Stewart, Trevisa, Magog, and Livingston. All of these four were between 1000-3000 tons, and were sailing under the Canadian or British flags (some were probably sold to the British, as this type of vessel is usually operated by the US and Canada).
