Sometimes, when I have this problem, day and night time are shifted. It's annoying, but when you don't look at the clock...
Weather has changed often, when you load a saved game. You stop playing in a tropical storm, and when you continue to play, the sun is shining bright. Probably the global warming that's involved!
Ship traffic remains the same.
