First of all matey; you need to be patched to 1.2, here is a download link or use the update utility in the SH5 Support file.

Secondly; this is an extract from the official SH5 forums about crashes;
- Uninstall all "Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable" packages from your computer and install only the one that comes with the Silent Hunter 5 kit.
- Remove all the mods that you have installed.
- Have an up-to-date Windows installation. Microsoft regularly releases patches for security problems. Having these installed may often remove the need for either an anti-virus or a firewall so that you may... (check next point)
- Turn off any and all software running in the background. This includes, but is not limited to (as many programs hide themselves from the user): anti-virus, firewall, messengers, anything that could steal focus from the full-screen game through a pop-up window of any kind...
- Before turning off your anti-virus, update the virus definition list and do a full system scan. Running the game executable with the anti-virus off and while having no other programs running should pose no risks to your system.
- Before turning off the firewall, make sure your Windows installation is up to date and that no other programs are running. Windows operating systems are known to leave backdoors open and have major security holes that have been exploited by so called "computer worms". These are self-propagating viruses that will attach to a vulnerable system no matter what the user is doing at the time of infection. Having a firewall diminishes this risk but it does not eliminate it as was the case of Windows XP worms. And if you are reluctant to turn off your firewall because you suspect someone might be targeting you and trying to hack into your computer, seek specialized tech support and notify your ISP and the authorities.
- Overheating: Silent Hunter 5 is resource-intensive, it uses the graphics card and the CPU to the fullest and will cause the system to heat up considerably. There are no general guidelines as to how much is too much, you'll have to check the specs of the components in your rig. But as a general guideline, always try to have good cooling solutions (air con turned on, external and internal cooling fans, open up the computer case...).
- System specs: if possible, try different hardware configurations. The graphics card can many times be the solution.
- Operating system: do a clean reinstall, start the game with the bare-minimum software needed (only what's needed to run it) and try different versions of drivers.
I hope the answer/fix that your seeking is somewhere in this post
