Well its mass of the comet that counts. Comet tails are very large and thin, the largest ever recorded was over 1 AU in length- far larger than Jupiter but of much lower mass.

Because they are developing a missile that will replace all their SLBMs its a huge deal for them. We tested dozens of missiles when developing Polaris.
