I play "Dead iis Dead" too, and therefore am much more cautious with the lives of my men. Still, I can't say I've had any disappointing patrols, except for some "Failure To Load" errors after some pretty successful warship sinkings. I've recently been experimenting with long range attacks after some unexpected earlier successes and, I must say, I'm getting pretty good at it. It's a lot safer too.
