By "field" they mean the current necessary to generate the magnetic field for the motor to work, kinda like the ignition on your car. So it only takes a few tens of amps to energize each armature, of which there are two per motor, whereas the total current draw per motor can be in the thousands of amps. So long story short, those two 0-60 Amp meters on either side show the status of the magnetic field current per armature. Still not sure what the 800-0-800 Amp gauge is for, though, I know it's related to the fields but specifically I dunno...  |
charge/discharge? 800 (charge) - 0 - 800 (discharge) or it's showing the current direction (DC) for forward/reverse
