Using TMORSRD. Right now I'm down south out of Surabaya. I've yet to see any planes except carrier planes..Why, they're no airbases down here yet. I went all the way to the Halmahera Sea. Normally I attack the large Java forces, this time I wanted the carrier forces leaving Palau. The only planes I saw were carrier planes and within several hours carriers showed up..Let that be a clue, learn the planes, so you'll know if a carrier is near.

Refitted at Darwin and went to cut off the large carrier group that forays into the Indian ocean. I've never found it, but with the map I showed you, it did. I was sitting in the Timor Strait and mass planes showed on map. They were carrier planes heading to... I guess Timor because a jap airbase just showed up, lil black icon that's stationary. Nice group, 5 carriers, 5 BB's,..so always watch for carrier planes.

No doubt later as JP takes the Pacific airbases pop up everywhere. During campaigns you see mass planes. Usually these groups are attacking land bases, but if they see you, you will now have mass planes attacking you.

Probably stated, but using high TC it seems like a lot of planes, you're really not diving every 5 minutes, more like once an hour. However, it can get bad. Sometimes it's best just to dive and use TC and surface a few times a day and run the surface at night...

Mainly...don't be seen...planes will vector other planes to you. If these spot you, the cycle continues. Crash Dive and stay deep when you spot them.

There is a mod that shows jap and allied airbases as they pop up..nice mod, so you'll know where the bases air.

Stay away from airbases...Really hard to do if you want to hunt, but you can draw circles around airbases and stay 500nms from them..you'll just see a few.

And yes...lots of allied planes in the air. They have saved my butt many a time. However, they can also bomb merchants you may be attacking and steal your kill. There's a lot of jap and allied planes in the Solomons in 42. I can't count how many times US planes took out DD's working me over. During the big battles I've seen 100's of allied planes wipe out entire taskforces...
