Japan's PM rejects China's demand for apology

okyo, Japan (CNN) -- Japan's prime minister has rejected China's demand for apology and compensation over the detention of a Chinese fishing boat captain, state media reported Sunday.

"I have no intention of accepting [the demand] at all," Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan said, according to Japan's official Kyodo news agency.
