If you want to be noticed on your birthday, you have to do two things:
1. On the upper left of the page click on 'User CP'. On your control panel click 'Edit Your Details'. Near the top you'll see the place to enter your birthday and, if you like, the birth year. Birthday will make your name show up at the bottom of the main forum page, which is where everybody looks to see if anyone has a birthday each day. Year will add in how old you are each time around.
2. Don't become a stranger. When we look at birthdays we tend to ignore people we don't even recognize, some guy who posted a year ago and never since. If you make yourself a regular (which you have so far) then people will say "Oh look - it's Mattj's birthday" and someone will mention it.
